Bachelor of Science [B.S] (Nursing)

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree includes a liberal arts foundation and a nursing curriculum that enables graduates to realize their own potential as individual citizens and practitioners in the health care system. The program, which is accredited by the Texas Board of Nursing and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, prepares students to excel on the NCLEX certification exam: in the 2016-17 academic year, the first-time pass rate for UMHB nursing graduates who took the exam was 90.6 %.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have an official secondary school transcript to get admission.
- Students are required to maintain at least a 3.0 overall GPA.
Language Requirments:
- Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL scores.
- Students are required to submit an SAT or ACT score to be considered for admission.
International students who currently or will hold a degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction, do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score report.
