The IS department is also increasing its faculty size. Our most recent faculty hires include Dr. Andrea Kleinsmith from the University of Florida, Dr. Jianwu Wang from the San Diego Supercomputer Center, Dr. Aaron Massey from Georgia Institute of Technology, and Dr. Stacy Branham, who was a postdoctoral researcher in the Information Systems department at UMBC after completing her doctoral degree from Virginia Tech. The department of Information Systems welcomes Dr. Krystl Haerian as the Graduate Program Director of the Maters of Professional Studies program in Health Information Technology, which started in Fall 2014. We are also very pleased to welcome Dr. Sheila Weiss, Chief Science Officer and Vice President of Research at DrugLogic, as a Research Professor in the Information Systems Department.
