The University of Georgia Computer Systems Engineering undergraduate program seeks to prepare graduates for careers that bridge engineering and computer science to design technical solutions to a wide variety of multi-disciplinary problems. Graduates will possess the skills to work in teams in both contributor and leadership roles. They will be motivated to assume responsibility to serve society and behave ethically, engage in life-long learning and both broaden and deepen their expertise.

The following Program Educational Objectives relate to the knowledge, skills, and behaviors that UGA College of Engineering alumni with degrees in computer systems engineering should demonstrate as they move through their careers as engineers and as contributing members of society:

  • To pursue diverse careers as engineers and entrepreneurs and advance to leadership roles, through innovation and the application of their technical and humanistic skills.
  • To engage in lifelong learning through successful completion of professional training, certification, or graduate education.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

At UGA, the only minimum score requirements in place are the ones required by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia for admission to its research universities: that is, an SAT-CR of 430 and SAT-M of 400, or subscores of 17 on both the English and Math sections of the ACT.

Persons seeking admission to the University of Georgia Graduate School must hold a baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by the appropriate regional accrediting association or its international equivalent prior to the expected semester of matriculation with the exception of University of Georgia undergraduate students enrolled in linked bachelors/masters programs. Applicants should be ranked in the upper half of their undergraduate class. Applicants are responsible for submitting application materials required for admission. These items include, but are not limited to, the following:
