Students can schedule a virtual meeting with the admission counselor after submitting the application and also plan a virtual campus visit.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

International students must submit acceptable proof of English language proficiency. The accepted tests and minimum score requirements for various levels of program are as follows:

Visa Process for International Students

After completing the application process, international students can apply for a U.S. student visa. The accepted students will be sent an I-20 form that will be used to obtain a student visa. To apply for a F-1 or J-1 visa to study in the U.S., students must complete the online application and provide required documents along with the form at the U.S. Embassy located in their home country.

The University processes applications after receiving transcripts and all necessary documents. Students can expect an admission decision within 10 business days. Accepted students will receive an admission packet via mail from the University of Alaska - Anchorage containing a certificate of admission, letter of admission and other documents. The University does not require students to accept admission formally or pay a deposit. Students can directly register for classes after meeting with an advisor.
