Our department is staffed with qualified faculty, staff, and students of diverse academic and research backgrounds. It is comprised of a multicultural student body from across the globe and is the largest department on the Alcorn State University campus. The department has been recognized nationally for its production of undergraduate biology majors. Our undergraduate and graduate students are afforded research opportunities on and off campus. It is interconnected to Biotechnology which shares a vital connection between the School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences and the Department of Chemistry and Physics.

  1.To be eligible for admission, a person must be a graduate of a recognized high school.

  2.Persons who are not high school graduates are required to pass the General Education Development (GED) test and make a satisfactory score       on the ACT and/or SAT before being admitted.

  3. TOEFL scores required – IBT -71 , PBT – 525 , CBT – 195
