Our Ph.D. students are chosen after careful consideration of their background, academic record, experience and, particularly, their proposal. Most applicants have at least a year, and often much more, professional experience.
Our students must have completed or be in the final stages of earning a master’s degree. It doesn’t have to be in journalism or mass communications, although if not, additional coursework might be required.
Our students take a total of 57 hours — 45 hours of coursework and a minimum of 12 dissertation hours.
