Applications are accepted throughout the year for the fall season.

  • The Master’s Program is offered by the University of Albany provides the opportunity to deepen student's knowledge of literary and cultural theory, develop skills in historical and textual analysis, and advance their practice of reading and writing in the English language.
  • The program explores students interests in British, American, Native American, postcolonial, and contemporary literature in English, as well as creative writing, rhetoric, composition, pedagogy, and cultural studies

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students must successfully complete 75% of the total credits. Students have four semesters to achieve the 75% standard.
  • Students must achieve and maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTSTOEFL, or PTE scores. 

Indian Students Eligibility:

  • Students should submit required official and complete individual mark skeets for each examination attempt, including subsidiary exams. 
  • Photocopies of student's mark sheets are accepted only when they are attested by the University Registrar or Controller of Examinations and placed in a sealed, stamped envelope that is sent directly to the Graduate School.

  • Proof that the candidate will leave the country once the program is completed. A return air ticket to the home country can be evidence of this kind.
