The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry program is a combined major and minor sequence. Students can follow one of three tracks: General Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Forensic Chemistry. Each of these tracks features an honors program option.
The chemistry curricula are designed according to American Chemical Society standards, which means students will study two semesters of General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry, along with formal laboratory experience.
The program develops student’s analytical problem-solving skills in the major areas of chemical study and laboratory skills, including preparative techniques, methods for the disposal and handling of toxic compounds, and usage of modern instrumentation.
Students will get an understanding of the underlying theoretical principles that explain chemical behavior at the atomic, molecular, and macroscopic levels.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students must have a minimum of 120 credits and at least 60 credits in the liberal arts and sciences
Students must achieve and maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
The students should have completed the General Education Program at the University at Albany
Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE scores.

Indian Students Eligibility:

Students should submit required official and complete individual mark skeets for each examination attempt, including subsidiary exams.
Photocopies of student's mark sheets are accepted only when they are attested by the University Registrar or Controller of Examinations and placed in a sealed, stamped envelope that is sent directly to the Graduate School.
