This is the highly ranked core program in physics. It's designed to prepare students for graduate study in physics or a related scientific field. It also provides an excellent foundation for a wide variety of technical and professional careers. Students gain a solid foundation in physics, mathematics, and basic laboratory techniques.

A technical/professional elective requirement is met through a diverse range of pre-approved elective options, including pre-law, pre-med, business, acoustical physics, astrophysics, atmospheric science, biophysics, computational physics, computer engineering, energy & sustainability, materials science, nuclear physics, and optical physics. Or, students may design their own elective options, subject to departmental approval.
