Bachelor [History of Art] From Saginaw Valley State University

Students are required to declare one area of concentration from the following: ceramics, drawing and painting, graphic design, photography, printmaking or sculpture. Students are required to present their portfolios and artist statement upon completion of the core and foundation requirements and apply to the program in order to be admitted into the BFA program. Graduating students will be required to successfully complete BFA exhibition and BFA Oral review.

The visual arts curriculum includes art history and studio courses in ceramics, graphic design, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking,sculpture & two-and three-dimensional design. The Art Department offers both a major and minor in art and graphic design. Students ?receiving the B.A. in Visual Arts Education are eligible to apply for a Michigan teaching license in visual arts education, and to pursue teaching positions in K-12 education.
