The Art Departmentoffers both a major and minor in art and graphic design. Students?receiving the B.A. in Visual Arts Education are eligible to apply for a?Michigan teaching license in visual arts education, and to pursue?teaching positions in K-12 education.
SVSU offers small class sizes, with currently over 300 majors, and?150 minors, and a teaching staff of 10 full time and 16 adjunct?faculty.

Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts or high school transcript evaluation
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by a NACES or AICE member agency
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 or equivalent is required on a scale of 4
- Submitting score of ACT/SAT is optional
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 61 in iBT
- IELTS: minimum score of 5.5
- PTE: minimum score of 45
- Duolingo: minimum score of 85
- SAT: overall score of minimum 900
- ACT: composite score of 18
