The Nicholls State University Department of Music prepares its majors for careers in music through classroom lectures and practical experience, including performances and recitals. ?Students learn from distinguished faculty members and visiting musicians as well as hands-on in elementary and secondary music classrooms and in the Nicholls Music Academy.
We offer programs that allow students to pursue a music degree with a career cluster of elective courses suited to their individual interests. Music majors can choose to concentrate in voice or instruments (winds, strings, percussion and piano).
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit high school transcripts and diploma with official english translation
- Applicants must have a GPA of minimum 2.35
- Submit proof of readiness of university level english through ACT/Duolingo/SAT/IELTS/TOEFL
- Submit proof of readiness of university level mathematics through ACT math/SAT math/ACCUPLACER
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 79
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
- Duolingo: minimum 100
