All students complete two internship experiences to gain hands-on, real-world experience. You'll graduate with a solid foundation in the natural sciences and ready to further your study of health care in professional school. The health care studies minor will help you prepare for a professional career as a:
- Chiropractor
- Physician assistant (PA)
- Occupational therapist
- Public health official
- Nurse
- Athletic trainer
- Audiologist
If you know you want to work in the health care field, our health care studies minor is for you.
Our dual-track program is the largest interdisciplinary minor on campus, attracting students from such majors as biology, biochemistry, business, chemistry, communications, modern languages, music, neuroscience and sociology. The program benefits immensely from the variety of perspectives our students bring to the table.
Because it's a minor, you'll receive recognition for your hard work but you won't be locked into a professional track or career path. Get real, hands-on experience with two required 40-hour internships.
Our students have an excellent track record of acceptance into professional schools. They've been accepted into the following health care programs in recent years:
- Medicine, both allopathic (MD) and osteopathic (DO)
- Veterinary Medicine
- Dentistry
- Physician Assistant
- Doctor of Pharmacy
- Doctor of Optometry
- Occupational Therapy
- Doctor of Audiology
- Nursing
- Doctor of Physical Therapy
- Podiatric Medicine
