Available as an option to applicants from varied backgrounds, such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, biological sciences, and medicine. The core curriculum consists of 15 hours of biomedical engineering courses, 3 credit hours of statistics, and 30 credit hours of electives.
The program is designed such that students will
- Demonstrate command of advanced engineering principles and their applications in medicine and biology;
- Understand the research process and demonstrate capability to conduct independent research;
- Disseminate their research findings to the broader scientific community;
- Develop a sense of professional ethics, responsibility, and service.
The foundation of the program is a balance of intensive and extensive formal course work, a sequence of examinations, and the production of a dissertation.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicant must have completed a bachelors degree and masters degree from an accredited university
- Submit official transcripts of all previous education with English translation
- Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or 3.2 in the last 60 hours attempted
- Submit three letters of recommendation from individuals qualified to assess your abilities
- Submit a letter of application that describes your research qualities and professional goals
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores

- TOEFL: minimum 80 in iBT; minimum 550 in PBT; 8.5 in TOEFL Essentials
- IELTS: minimum score of 6.5
- Duolingo: minimum score of 105
- PTE: minimum score of 58
