The Bachelor of Arts in English with a writing concentration is designed for those students who wish to combine their love of reading with a close study of the elements of writing in preparation for a future in which writing will play a central role. This emphasis continues to be updated to take advantage of new course offerings in communication, design, and technology; now our program includes elements such as Writing for New Media and Cyber-Rhetoric, and soon will include a course in Professional Editing as well.

Such positions are available to people who can communicate effectively in speech and writing, so students in this emphasis balance their work in literature with courses in subjects like web design, business communication, technical writing, or public relations. A number of internship opportunities that allow students to develop their professional portfolios are available; contact the Department Chair for more information about these.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- The official transcripts, marksheets, certificates of all secondary and post secondary education should be directly sent from the issuing institution
- Secondary and college credentials should be evaluated by NACES accredited institution and should include cumulative GPA
- Submitting SAT or ACT score is optional and is recommended for scholarship consideration
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 520 in PBT; minimum 68 in iBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.0 with no section less than 5.0
- Duolingo: minimum score of 95
- SAT: minimum score of 480 in evidence based reading and writing
