Students majoring in French must complete at least five 300-level French courses and four 400-level French courses. Majors and minors who spend a semester or year studying abroad must plan to complete at least one 400-level course at Richmond upon their return. French honors students complete two 400-level courses for honors credit and write a an honors thesis of 25-30 pages in French. French minors must take four 300-level courses, two of which must be in literature, and one 400-level course. All students must have satisfied their COM2 general education language requirements before beginning 300-level coursework.
