Jefferson’s fully-accredited Nurse Anesthesia program at Jefferson (Philadelphia University and Thomas Jefferson University) prepares nurses to provide anesthesia care during surgical and obstetrical procedures and to provide pain relief in hospitals of all sizes.
Students in this 30-month, eight-semester program take 74 credits within three core areas of study: nursing that includes a research component, anesthesia and clinical. Its full-time curriculum integrates didactic coursework with over 1,000 hours of clinical rotations, ensuring that students will administer more than 550 anesthetics to patients undergoing a wide variety of surgical and/or diagnostic procedures.
Students may be able to transfer in eligible coursework. Students with transfer credits and/or who have completed master’s core courses complete the program on the same schedule as those starting with no credits. Tuition is charged and financial assistance is awarded based on the actual number of credits a student takes each semester.
