Philadelphia University has merged with Thomas Jefferson University on July 1, 2017. The name of the new university is Thomas Jefferson University, and the Philadelphia University campus will be referred to as Jefferson; East Falls Campus. Program location, leadership, faculty and curriculum have remained the same.
Recognizing that the architecture profession is constantly changing, the program is designed to fit current industry needs and is adaptable to evolving requirements in the industry.
As a student in this program, you will have the opportunity to focus your studies on a specific area of architecture to directly apply your research to your current work or to fit your career path.
Like other graduate programs in the College of Architecture and the Built Environment, sustainability and collaboration will be at the core of the curriculum and you will benefit from our?Nexus Learning approach, Thomas Jefferson University?s distinct method of teaching and learning. With?nexus learning, you will have opportunities to work with students from other disciplines, ranging from construction management to occupational therapy, on real-world project and industry challenges.
Unique to the M.S. in Architecture at?Jefferson (Philadelphia University and Thomas Jefferson University) is the option for you to work in an office while conducting research for credit. This potential allows you to become an ?imbedded researcher? in the office, working in practice while progressing toward your degree. At the same time, this provides the office an opportunity to develop expertise and a research profile that they normally would not have.
As part of the program, your coursework will provide you with focused experience in an area of concentration. We are currently offering a concentration in?High Performance Building,?which focused on how buildings and their sites have profound effects on both the social and natural environment. Additional concentrations will be available in the future.
