- The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Visual Studies at the Tyler School of Art and Architecture develops creative and critical skills across an equal ratio of studio and academic classes, including a higher-than-average number of electives that can be chosen according to the student’s particular needs and interests.
- The flexible and interdisciplinary curricular structure and course offerings are linked by a conceptual framework to develop essential dynamic skills for artists in the ever-evolving arts field. The program has four major themes that serve as lenses through which students create and examine visual culture in each year of study: Identities; Narratives; Sites; and Global Citizens.
- The curriculum includes studio classes, academic courses and electives, studio and interdisciplinary art seminars, and more—all of which will culminate in a semester-long thesis research project (written or studio-based) in their final year that they also present publicly.
