The Masters Degree Program in Aeronautics is a one year program that provides advanced training in the areas of aeronautics or aerospace beyond that covered in a four year undergraduate program. The program consists of a set of five core courses (see details below). There is no research requirement nor is a thesis required to obtain the degree.
Outcomes
A student graduating with an M.S. in Aeronautics will
- Be skilled in fluid mechanics, solid mechanics and mathematics, as applied to advanced study in aeronautics;
- Have an in-depth understanding of the foundations of analytical, computational and experimental techniques in this area;
- Be well qualified for a career in aerospace and related fields.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academics
- Students whose highest qualification is a baccalaureate degree equivalent to that given by the Institute are eligible to seek admission to work toward the master’s degree.
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicants must have a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
- Or, they should have completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
*It should be noted that the graduate program at GALCIT is primarily focused on Ph.D.-level research and so priority in admission is given to those who plan to ultimately perform Ph.D.-level research

- Statement of marks - The marks statement provided by the education board.
- 3 Letters of Recommendation - This shows who recommended the student to pursue the degree.
- Statement of Purpose - This is an essay or any written statement written by the student while applying.
- English Language Requirement - This shows the test score of English Proficiency Exams such as IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE, etc.
