Students are able to tailor their programs to their specific interests and skills, and to defer specialization to their graduate program. It offers the flexibility for students to participate in one or more of our noteworthy experiential courses, to broaden their hands-on business experience.
The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business will initially be offered during the day time at the Manhattan campus at 101 Astor Place. The program provides faculty and students a shared understanding of the purpose of majoring in business and what graduating seniors are expected to know or to be able to do at the end of their course of study. The program’s objectives, which are assessed to determine whether students are achieving the outcomes, include the following:
- Students are skilled in critical thinking and decision making, as supported by the appropriate use of analytical and quantitative techniques.
- Students can apply functional area concepts and theories appropriately.
- Students are effective communicators who can prepare and deliver oral and written presentations using appropriate technologies.
- Students are sensitive to the ethical requirements of business activities.
- Students can tackle strategic and organizational challenges with innovative solutions.
