The Yale University MBA is a two year full-time program offered through the Yale School of Management (Yale SOM). Yale University Admissions: Interview Process and Dates

An interview as an optional requirement for the majority of undergraduate programs due to limited capacity for interviewing. However, the admission committee may invite some students for an interview to gather more information about their educational background. Those invited for interviews must connect either with the Yale alumni or student interviewer.

For MBA programs, selected students may be invited for a 30 minute interview on a rolling basis. MBA admission interviews can be conducted by an alumni, second-year student, or a member of the admission committee. During the interview, the student will only be asked to discuss whatever they have mentioned in the resume.

Yale University Admission Decision

Undergraduate applicants generally receive admission decisions by mid-December which they must confirm by early May of the following year. On the other hand, the decision of graduate applicants is generally released between February to early March. Make sure, the university does not release admission decisions via email instead through the Yale official admission portal.

Yale University Admission: Selection Criteria

Yale University acceptance rate is only 6.3% due to holistic evaluation process and selective admission policy. Yale looks for highly motivated students with strong academic background and extraordinary skills. In other words, the university expects candidates who could stretch beyond their talent.

There is no minimum cut off for standard test scores to get into undergraduate courses. However, the majority admitted students generally have a score between 720-770 in SAT-Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section and score of 740-790 in SAT Math section. Those submitting ACT results generally score between the range of 33-35. Apart from this, a teacher recommendation could strengthen one's application along with a well written personal statement.

For admission to graduate programs a minimum GRE score of 90th percentile is recorded from majority admitted students. These scores are waived off if one achieves a minimum GPA between 3.0-3.5 (80-95%). These requirements can be higher for highly competitive programs.
