Businesses evaluate projects, investments, financing, risk, valuation, and markets on a daily basis. Investment firms and individual investors assess their risk position, investment portfolio, and investment strategies to maximize their returns and meet their financial objectives.
Whether you choose to concentrate in corporate finance or investment finance at the Lubar School, you will gain an understanding of business and the economy, the functions of financial institutions and capital markets, and investment and borrowing instruments.
You’ll learn how to use data and technology as tools to evaluate and make the best financial decisions. And you’ll think “big picture” to evaluate investment decisions that serve the long-term objectives of your company or client – not just their short-run interests.
Career
With an undergraduate degree in Finance, you’ll have the professional tools to begin your business career in a small or large corporation, investment services firm, bank, or other organization, where you’ll be able to assist in making decisions by applying your understanding of financial data and analysis.
