Economics majors at the University of Wyoming acquire the general business skill and rigor useful for a wide variety of interesting and high-paying jobs that help our majors be able to be among the top 1% of earners.The preparation is less specific than other business-related majors, but this gives students the flexibility to select from a variety of careers.  Some of our recent graduates include: Land-man Anadarko Petroleum; President-First Western Trust Bank; Financial Analyst-FDIC; Business Analyst-Boeing Aerospace; Buyer-Target; Title Analyst-Anadarko Petroleum; Analyst in Public Finance-Congressional Research Service; Research Manager & Staff Attorney-Wyoming Legislative Service Office; Energy Policy Advsor-U.S. Senator Barrasso; Executive Director-Wyoming Tax Payers Association; Professor-University of Wyoming.

What can you study in economics?

There are two degrees available in economics.  Economics majors have the flexibility to design their degree to match their interdisciplinary interests and long-term goals.  Business Economics majors earn a supplementary foundation in business as they complete the same core business courses as all other business degrees.  For either degree students have their choice from a wide range of courses in natural resource economics, energy economics, international trade, environmental economics, industrial organization, game theory, development economics, mathematical economics and econometrics.
