The mission of the Management Department of the College of Business & Public Administration is threefold:
- To create and disseminate management-related knowledge,
- To provide practical and innovative management courses for undergraduate and graduate students, and
- To provide appropriate types and level of service to our stakeholders, which include but are not limited to the department, College, the University, the community, and the profession.
The Management curriculum is broad enough to prepare students for a variety of career opportunities. Surveys of past graduates identify this breadth as a major strength of the program. In addition to coursework, many management students also pursue internship opportunities with businesses. The program provides a background of professional education for general management or human resource careers in retail, manufacturing, banking, aviation, health care, public service, and other fields where sound management skills are important.
