Building on a foundation of perceptual work, students develop a working understanding of the material and painting as visual language. Students examine the nature of seeing and consider painting as a vehicle for both visual and personal inquiry. Students grow to explore expressive possibilities through increased personal involvement and critical and theoretical awareness. For the senior thesis, a student works independently to produce a cohesive body of work borne from personal experimentation along with historical and theoretical understanding.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit your secondary school transcript with a literal translation in English performed by a licensed translator and signed in ink.
- Official transcripts should include a list of subjects studied, a qualitative rating on a course-by-course basis, and an overall rating.
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit one letter of recommendation from your school counselor or academic teacher
- Submit portfolio review of your work
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 79 in iBT (writing- 18, Reading- 20, listening- 19, speaking- 22)
- IELTS: minimum 6.0 with no band below 5.0
- Duolingo: minimum 100
- ITEP: minimum 4.5
