While all bachelor programs require a minimum of 128 credits and a 2.00 cumulative GPA, the NJ Department of Education requires a 3.0 cumulative GPA to be certified. Students in this concentration must complete a CHEM major with accompanying EDUC courses as shown. A Math SAT score of 550 or better is required to declare CHEM as a major. To earn a certification in biological science, a student must complete 30 credits in biological science with 12 at the upper level. A student should seek guidance on course choices to ensure they count towards certification. A grade of “C” or better is required in all content courses and a B- or better in professional education courses. High school coursework in math and science is recommended.

Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school and other educational institution attended
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by a NACES accredited agency like WES, ECE, SpanTran
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit one or two recommendation letters from secondary school counselors
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores

- TOEFL: minimum 79 in iBT; 213 in CBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
- PTE: minimum 58
- Duolingo: minimum 105
