- The MSc in Software Engineering program is intended to serve the needs of software application developers, web programmers, network and information security administrators, database administrators, and other information technology professionals.
- The School of Engineering offers a master's degree in software engineering (MSSE) as well as graduate-level certificate programs in select areas of software engineering.
- Students who do not meet a minimum experience level, or who have other skill deficiencies, will be required to take one or more bridge courses to strengthen their capacity to meet the MSSE curriculum demands.
- In this program, students in the MSSE program will be instructed to analyze, design, verify, validate, implement, apply, and maintain software systems.
- Students may also be encouraged to take additional non-credit courses during their graduate work as needed.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Or, demonstrate adequate experience as a professional software developer or programmer, whose academic and professional record suggests the likelihood of success in a demanding graduate program.
- Applicants with an undergraduate degree in an area other than software engineering, computer science, or the equivalent, may need to take the following bridge courses to develop the required background for the program: SWEG 5357 and SWEG 5407.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Completed a 4-year bachelors degree from a recognized institution
- Or, completed a 3-year UG degree from an accredited institution
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.

- A completed application for admission.
- A non-refundable $65 application fee.
- Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges or universities were sent to the Office of Graduate Admission.
- Two recommendation letters (completed online), one of which must be from a current supervisor or professor, accompanied by the University's online recommendation forms.
- A professional resume.
- A personal statement describing intent for studying in the program.
