The economics department in the College of Arts and Sciences has a reputation for excellence in both teaching and scholarship. Majoring in economics will give students a unique perspective on a broad range of topics. From decisions being made in the White House to choices, children make on the playground and every decision in between, studying economics at the UO will give students the tools they need to help others make positive and informed decisions in their own lives.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have at least a B average or a 3.00-grade point average (GPA) on a 4.00 scale.
- Students who have no justification for a waiver must score the minimum required score in TOEFL iBT, IELTS.
- Three letters of recommendation, a statement of purpose, and unofficial transcripts (via online application).
- The UO does not require SAT/ACT results.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they complete one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students should have an average high school academic performance of at least 60 out of 100.
- Students need to meet the University of Oregon's minimum English proficiency requirements for admission.
