Teachers without Special Education certification?may enroll in the MEd in Special Education Option 1 to obtain PA Special Education certification.? The courses in this program are designed to meet all Pennsylvania Department of Education Special Education guidelines and Council for Exceptional Children standards.? The program is 36 credits and requires a one-week residency on campus during the first summer of your program.
Teachers already holding Special Education certification?may enroll in the MEd in Special Education Option 2.? This program is designed to develop and improve knowledge of and performance in core professional competencies related to the field of special education.? Students can chose to specialize in autism or behavior management.? The program is 30 credits and requires a one-week residency on campus during the first summer of your program.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicants should have completed bachelors degree from an accredited university
- Applicants should submit official transcripts of all previous coursework completed
- Official transcripts need to be evaluated by a NACES accredited agency
- Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent
- Submit three letters of recommendations
- Submit teaching certification copy
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 79 in ibt
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
- PTE: minimum 53
