- Illinois Tech’s Master of Power Engineering program provides students with applicable and theoretical knowledge in power electronics through study in the areas of power electronics, electric power, motor drives, electric machines, renewable energy technologies, and sustainable energy systems.
- Course-only degree program prepares students for professional practice in power engineering through rigorous coursework in advanced computer technologies, communications, electronics, and control and signal processing.
- A student may demonstrate proficiency by successfully completing the courses or by demonstrating satisfactory performance in one or more special examinations administered by the ECE department.
- The ECE Department at Illinois Tech is one of the finest in the nation with a distinctive hands-on, ABET-accredited curriculum delivered by faculty who are world-renowned in their respective areas of research in emerging technologies.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, from a recognized university.
- The cumulative undergraduate grade-point average of 3.0/4.0 or higher
- Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL to get admission to this program.
- Prerequisites:
- Circuit Analysis I
- Circuit Analysis II
- Engineering Electronics
- Fundamentals of Power Engineering
- Multivariate and Vector Calculus
- Introduction to Differential Equations
- Submission of GRE or GMAT score is not required for all master’s programs for 2021.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Completed a master’s degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
