The Master of at is a necessary component for licensure in the field. Candidates who hold a B.A. or B.S. in Architecture (a pre-professional program from an NAAB-recognized school in the U.S.) or international students holding a professional degree from outside the U.S.; and who have completed the equivalent of the first year’s required courses, may qualify for up to one year of advanced standing in the professional degree program.
The curriculum of required and elective courses includes design studios, architectural history and theory, building technologies, structures, representation, and professional practice. Design studios, which are at the heart of the program, follow a sequence of increasing complexity, proceeding from the basic elements of architecture, to buildings, and finally to the city.
