Prabhjyot shinh Review at California State University [CSU-SACRAMENTO], Sacramento | Collegedunia

A great college experience

Ps
9.8 /10

It is a really good college for international students. A lot of Indian students go there. And their business school is well known. Moreover the professors there are nice and helpful and they know what they are teaching.

Course Curriculum :

The courses are divided into general education and core courses. The general education is divided into 5 areas in which a given number of classes are to be taken. The classes to take each semester are not fixed, so it depends on the student what they want to take each semester and how many classes as well.

Exams :

I took only IELTS before admissions. I received an overall 8 bands on my IELTS. The other exams I took were after I came here and they were on math and English placement. I was placed at the highest level for math, and the second highest for English.

Placement :

The university gives great career opportunities. They call out big firms in their career fair. Last semester we had Deloitte, Apple, Amazon and such companies who came in during career fairs to recruit interns as well as full times.

Internship :

Yes. My college has a career fair each semester and they have on campus recruiters in big firms. The college of the business itself has an internship program for the business majors. The platform that is online also helps in job hunting.

Events :

Multiple events are celebrated in MU college. We have Indian events celebrations, for example, Diwali, Holi, and Navaratri. And American events like homecoming, welcome party and potlucks, and Christmas celebrations.

Fees :

The fee mainly consists of tuition that is fixed for 12 classes and it around $4000. And then per unit an additional $256 for international students. Then there is insurance and the gym fee.

Scholarship :

I have received scholarships from the school. They aren't the fixed ones throughout my college time but only one time. One can apply through the scholarship page that the school website has and then fill the general form and then write essays or answer questions each scholarship that one wants to apply to has.

Examination Structure :

Exams are really simple and mostly easy. Most of the exams are multiple choice answers on the scantron. There are some professors who take half was written and half multiple choice depending on the subject. Students do have writing classes for them, so the exam consists of essays.

Faculty :

The faculty is really nice. They are smart people who know their subject really well. Most of the faculty do research too so it is great to be able to work with them on their research. The professors have office hours for one on one help and give good reference letters too.

Hostel :

I am living in an apartment shared with other students. It is the best one as the rent is less and the utility expenses are minimal split between 5 people. We share a 2 bedroom apartment and it is near our school too, so easy to commute by bus.
