Alexa King Review at California State University [CSU-SACRAMENTO], Sacramento | Collegedunia

I love my college and am a proud student.

It was close to home, so I could live at home and commute whilst still saving money. In addition, I pretty much fell in love with the campus when I visited. The campus was easy to navigate, the staff was kind, and I did not feel like a number despite the school being quite large.

Course Curriculum :

It's great. I learn a lot about psychology and a wide variety of fields. I am able to learn about a diverse range of topics, ranging from special education to quantitative/qualitative research. I think it is well balanced and works in the student's favor.

Exams :

I took the SAT and earned a score of approximately 1300. I did not take any other exams but do plan to take the GRE and the WPJ, which is the writing placement exam for juniors in a little while. I hopefully will ace both!

Placement :

They are vastly diverse. There are jobs like food service that require little to no experience, and there are jobs working in research labs with professors. These do not require much experience, but they do require explicit permission

Internship :

Yes, but I am not in one. I am, however a part of a program in which I mentor other psychology students, helping them not only navigate the major, but also things that benefit every student, like self care.

Events :

My school seemingly an event every day, somewhere on campus. We frequently have events where we learn skills important for job interviews and how to actually get the job. We also have events to teach us money management, events for self care, and concerts

Fees :

Each month, I pay approximately $1000. This is the quarterly fee installment plan. I go into the bursar?s office to pay with a check since I am charged an extra fee to pay the tuition online. I think it is a fair price since there are much more expensive places

Scholarship :

No, I have not unfortunately. I am, however working to earn scholarships so I can ease the burden on my parents. I hope to at least have a little bit of my tuition covered so that my parents have a little more of an expendable income

Examination Structure :

Fair, but this is more dependent on the professor than the actual school. Some professors tests are much more difficult than other?s. Also, the actual structure differs. Some tests are multiple choice, others are essay based, but most are a mix of both.

Faculty :

They for the most part are wonderful. They have helped me navigate the major and figure out which classes best align with my future goals. In addition, they are mostly kind and welcoming during office hours.

Hostel :

I live at home, so I am not sure. I understand that the on campus housing is very close to campus, and my school offers a bus called the hornet express as a means of public transportation for students.
