You?ll be able to choose a specialty in your last year of clinical.
This Respiratory Care program (registry level) prepares the student for a professional career as a respiratory therapist. Respiratory Care is an allied health specialty instrumental in the diagnosis, treatment, management, and preventive care of patients with cardiopulmonary problems. Respiratory Care offers persons interested in caring for others an opportunity to serve as vital members of the health care team.?
Students gain experience through our clinical practice courses. With the help of clinical instructors, students are taken into patient care areas. During this time, students apply their knowledge to actual patient care situations. During the senior year, students get an opportunity to choose a specialty clinical rotation. Rotations include, but are not limited to:
- Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Intensive Care
- Trama/Surgical Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine
- Open Heart Intensive Care, Pulmonary Rehabilitation
- Home Care and Equipment, Pulmonary Physiology Testing
- Sleep Study
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school and all previous education completed
- Official transcripts should show last three years of result and the subjects taken during last year of secondary school
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Students have to submit one letters of recommendation and two if SAT/ACT exam score is not submitted
- Submit a statement of purpose in 250 to 650 words describing a challenge faced, class that engaged your imagination and ways in which college coursework is different from school
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum score of 79
- IELTS: minimum 6.0
- Duolingo: minimum 95
- PTE: minimum 58
