Union College Application Deadlines

Early action and early decision deadlines are open for international applicants as well. Applicants whose first preference is the Union College can apply Early Decision. It gives them an upper hand at the time of admission. They can apply without a commitment to enrollment. The early decision option is available for the fall and winter semesters. Union College International Admissions

International student community at Union College represents around 48 countries. International students can either apply through the Common Application or the Coalition Application. The Union College admission criteria varies for international students. All the details have been mentioned below.

Admission Requirements for International Students

  • Official Transcripts from secondary/high school
    • Translations of transcripts must be submitted, if required.
  • International applicants are required to submit an essay as a part of their online application.
  • Standardized test scores, optional
  • It is required to submit 2 letters of recommendation from a teacher or counselor.
  • Applicants applying for early decisions are also required to submit an Early Decision Agreement.
  • Interviews may be conducted for applicants from some countries.

English Language Requirements

International applicants belonging to countries whose native language is not English are required to submit proof of language proficiency. They should submit score of the English Language Tests TOEFL, IELTS or the Duolingo English Test. The minimum requirement of the test scores has been listed below.

NOTE: The TOEFL code for the Union College is 2920. The Union College does not generally waiver the requirement of English Language Proficiency. However, it can be done so in the following cases:

  1. When the applicant, while graduating from school has completed four-year secondary school coursework in the English Language.
  2. If the applicant has submitted official test scores of SAT/ACT.

Visa Requirements for International Students

International students who wish to study at the Union College must acquire a valid U.S. student visa. Applicants are required to submit their visa application at the office which has jurisdiction over their place of permanent residence.

  • The International Advising Office of the Union College issues an I-20 form for an F-1 full-time student visa for SEVIS registration.
  • Applicants must register at the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and pay the required fee. The SEVIS fee is different from the Visa fee.

  • A visa application form is required.
  • Applicants must have a valid passport for traveling to the U.S. which should be valid for the future six months.
  • A passport size photo is required.
  • Applicant must have the payment receipt for SEVIS fee.

Union College Undergraduate Admissions

The Union College offers 58 major and minor programs in the areas of Astronomy, Biological Sciences, Computer Engineering, Economics, History, Music, Psychology, Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry and many others. The admission requirements for all the courses is the same. The details of the admissions process in any of the UG programs are as follows:

  • Two academic letters of recommendation
  • Applicants may be required to submit Financial aid forms.
  • They may appear for an interview (applicable to Vietnamese and Chineses applicants)

Optional Requirements: the following requirements are not necessary but recommended by the Union College

  • Those who wish to apply for financial aid must submit CSS profile and Financial forms to acquire need-based financial assistance.
  • It is not compulsory for the applicants to submit their SAT/ACT scores. (Recommended)
    • The school code is 2920 for the SAT and 2970 for the ACT.
  • The Union College recommends interviews for all applicants. It can be conducted with a Union College representative via Skype.

The decisions to the UG admissions are released in mid-December for early action and early decision I deadlines. Decisions for early decision II are released in February and for regular decision applications, invitation to admission is offered by late March. The applications can be tracked on the Colleges Application Tracking Portal. The admissions policy is strict and applications are reviewed on a holistic basis. International applicants are suggested to ensure that they submit SAT/ACT scores.
