Whether you are intrigued by earth's 4.5 billion-year history or driven to protect today's fragile environment, our Earth and Environmental Sciences Department offers you courses and programs that explore the global geological system while emphasizing the geology of New York. You will learn to observe, record and interpret data pertinent to geological materials and processes that geologists use to predict environmental trends.
You will also learn to forecast and prevent or mitigate natural disasters, to explore for energy and mineral resources, and to aid in remediation of contaminated environments. Our faculty will help you earn a comprehensive education that will serve as your gateway to a wide range of geoscience career options in industry, government, and primary, secondary or postsecondary education.
