Himalayan Garhwal University Admissions 2024: Fee Structure, Courses, Selection Criteria

BA, B.Sc., B.VOC, B. Com, BJMC are some of the courses which students can opt for during their undergraduate degree. There are around 12 specializations available under the UG section from streams like commerce, arts, science and even vocational studies.

Eligibility criteria for Undergraduate courses

• Students applying for UG courses in arts, science or commerce stream should have respective streams only in their 11th and 12th.
• A minimum of 45% aggregate in 10+2 examinations is needed to be eligible for the undergraduate degree admissions.
• The applicant must be an Indian resident or NRI for seeking admission in HGU.

Selection Criteria for Undergraduate courses 

• The university conducts its own entrance exam for undergraduate courses which becomes the deciding factor for admission.
• Once the results of the entrance exam are out on the university’s website, the next step is to carefully submit the admission form on the website itself.
• As soon as the university committee verifies all the admission forms, required documents have to be submitted.
• At last, the documents are verified and once the fee is paid, the student is admitted to the opted program.

Post graduate courses at HGU are designed to offer deeper knowledge to students in the specific subjects they have applied for. In all, 12 specializations are available under PG courses including Physics, Chemistry, zoology, biology, and more.

Eligibility Criteria

• A bachelor’s degree in the respective stream is a mandatory option to be eligible for post graduate courses at HGU.
• A minimum of 40% aggregate is needed for admission, along with work experience of minimum two years.

Selection Criteria

• Performance during undergraduate studies is the primary selection criteria considered by the university admission committee.
• Just like the UG courses, a separate entrance exam is held at the HGU campus for the PG courses. 
• A cumulative of student’s scores in undergraduate studies and entrance test will determine the selection.

Under the MBA segment of the faculty of commerce and management of HGU, MBA courses are available for students with specialisations such as business administration and hotel management. 

Eligibility Criteria

• Students who have completed their graduation with minimum 40% marks are eligible for admission in MBA courses provided by HGU.  
• Every applicant must sit for the entrance exam for MBA to be eligible. 

Selection Criteria

• Selection of candidates is based on the marks obtained in the entrance test conducted by the university specifically for MBA admission. 
• Applicant also has to perform well during the ground discussion and personal interview that follows HGUEE.

Himalyan Garhwal University provides doctoral courses under two domains, particularly being Ph.D. and M.Phil. with more than 9 specialisations available under these degree courses. Each specialisation is offered by a different faculty of the university. 

Eligibility Criteria

• Eligibility of the student for Ph.D. and M.Phil courses is decided based on marks in post-graduate degree. A minimum of 45% is expected by the university. 

Selection Criteria

• Selection of the student in any of the doctoral courses is based on his/her work experience and performance in previous education institutions. 
• The marks obtained by the candidate during his/her post-graduate degree will be an important deciding factor for admission.
