Established in the year 2019, Tata Institute of Social Sciences - School of Vocational Education (TISS-SVE), Dehradun is a premier institution projected for incubating a ‘National Vocational University’ initiated under the aegis of the AICTE proposed by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. TISS is a leading institution in the field of social sciences with decades of experience in teaching, research, publications, and field interventions. It is given the status of Deemed University by the University Grants Commission (UGC) u/s Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956. The NAAC has awarded 5-star rating to the institute, and in 2010 re-accreditated TISS with an ‘A’ Grade and a cumulative grade point of 3.89 out of 4.00, one of the highest scores awarded to universities accredited thus far. TISS-SVE Dehradun Courses:

The university offers two unique B.Voc courses in Hotel Management and Hospitality Management with 3 years of duration.

B.Voc in Hotel Management

The course has come with 3 internal stages as the wards get a certification reward at each year such as a student gets a Diploma Certificate in Hotel Management at the end of the 1st year of the program while for the 2nd and 3rd year, the student gets an Advance Diploma in Hotel Management and Degree in Hotel Management respectively. The Eligibility Criteria for all the three stages are different and given below:

For the admission at the Diploma level, a candidate needs to provide a certificate in 10+2 pass or equivalent from a recognized board.
For the Advanced Diploma level admission, an aspirant needs to show a diploma in Hotel Management from a recognized institute.
An aspirant needs to possess an advanced diploma from a recognizing institution, for getting enrolled for admission in a degree program of Hotel Management at the TISS-SVE institute.

B.Voc in Hospitality Management

For the admissions to B.Voc in Hospitality Management can be taken when an aspirant do possess 10+2 pass certificate or equivalent from a recognized board.

TISS Placements:

The institution gives full assistance to its students for getting a job after their due B.Voc programs via its Placement Cell. The cell also provides training programs for the students in the corporate sector with the Concept of Work Integrated Training Program (WITP) in which the trainee is provided with the opportunity to enhance their skills and gain workplace based industry experience as a part of their Graduation program as for the trainee, the experience is valuable as training is constructed around the context of work, authorizing them to understand by working and observing. Here, the participating students get placed with a reputed hotel for On the Job Training while pursuing the course.
