Indira Gandhi University Meerpur offers M.Sc in various specializations at postgraduate level. Application process for admission to M.Sc program offered by Indira Gandhi University is online as well as offline. In case of offline form candidates can download the form from the university website.

The duly filled form can be submitted manually at college along with an e-challan (application fee) by HDFC Bank. The appliction fee for candiates belonging to general Category is INR 800. For candidates belonging to SC/ST categories application fee is INR 200.

Eligibility Criteria

Indira Gandhi University has laid different eligibility criteria based on the courses offered. The eligibility criteria are as follows:

• M.Sc (Maths) and M.Sc (Maths with computer science):?
  • For SC/ST candidates required aggregate is 47.5% in graduation. 
  • ? B.A/B.Sc (Hons./pass) in Mathematics with at least 50% marks from any recognized university or equivalent to it.
• M.Sc (Physics):
  • ?B.Sc (Hons.) in Physics or B.Sc (Pass) with Physics and Mathematics as two of the subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate from any recognized university. 
  • For SC/ST candidates, an aggregate of 47.5% marks is required in graduation.
• M.Sc (Chemistry):
  • ?B.Sc (Hons.) in Chemistry or B.Sc (Pass) with Chemistry as one of the subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • For SC/ST candidates, 47.5% marks are required in aggregate.
• M.Sc (Zoology):
  • ?B.Sc (Hons.) in Zoology or B.Sc (Pass) with any three of the subjects namely anthropology, biochemistry, biotechnology, botany, chemistry, environmental science, fisheries, genetics, geology, microbiology and zoology with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized University or equivalent.
  • For SC/ST candidates, 47.5% marks are required in aggregate.
• M.Sc (Botany):
  • ?B.Sc (Hons.) in Botany or B.Sc (Pass) with Botany and any two of the subjects namely anthropology, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, environmental science, genetics, microbiology and zoology with at least 50% marks in aggregate or any exam recognized by I.G. University or equivalent to it.
  • For SC/ST candidates, 47.5% marks are required in aggregate.
• M.Sc (Geography):
  • ?Bachelor degree/ Shastri examination of three-year duration with at least 45% marks in aggregate or any exam recognized by I.G. University or equivalent to it.
  • For SC/ST candidates, 42.75% marks are required in aggregate.
• M.Sc (Environmental Science):
  • ?B.Sc (Hons. or Pass) in any discipline of Science & Technology with at least 50% marks in aggregate or any exam recognized by I.G. University or equivalent to it.
  • For SC/ST candidates, 47.5% marks are required in aggregate.

Selection Process

Selection of candidates to various courses will be based on their performance in entrance exam conducted by Kurukshetra University or MDU.

• Admission to M.Sc (Geography) is based on performance in entrance exam conducted by Kurukshetra University. The exam consists of 100 Multiple choice questions. Every correct answer is one mark. 0.25 mark is deducted for every wrong answer. Level of questions will be of the qualifying examination. Duration of exam is 90 minutes.
• For all other courses, admission will be based on performance in entrance exam conducted by MDU. The exam consists of 100 questions of one mark each. The duration of exam is 75 minutes.

Candidates need to fill the application form online and submit the copy of the duly filled form along with all the documents to the respective departments. Information in the application form must be filled correctly to avoid cancellation. The steps are as follows:

2. Click on the ‘Admission’ link and further on ‘Click here for online admission’.
3. Click on ‘I have read the instructions and wish to “apply online”
4. The application form will be displayed on the screen, fill it.
5. Take the printout of the filled-up application form.
6. Along with printout, enclose all the documents and send it to the respective department at

Required Documents:

Documents are important to avoid rejection of application form. The documents to be attached with the application form are as follows:

• Valid ID Proof such as driving license, passport, voter id.
• Aadhar card
• Marksheets of 10^th, 12^th and graduation.
• Recent passport size photograph scanned in JPG format and size not more than 300 KB.

Application Fee:

Applicants can pay the application fee by only one mode i.e. Challan that will be generated at the time of form submission. Candidates need to pay INR 800 for general category and INR 200 for SC/ST category.
