Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU) offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses. The university offers B.Tech, B.Sc, BA, B.Com, MBA, M.Tech, MA, MJMC, M.Com, M.Sc, MSW, M.Phil & Ph.D courses.
Admissions are entrance based at MGCU. Applications are accepted online commonly while applying for CUCET. Other details have been given below:
- For all UG courses admission, students must qualify 10+2 exams in relevant streams and have a valid score in CUCET.
- M.Tech admission is based on marks obtained in graduation and valid score in GATE or UGC-NET or SET or JEST.
- M.Phil+Ph.D. admissions are based on scores in the previous qualifying exam. Scores in UGC-NET or JRF or CUCET are accepted for direct shortlisting for interview.
- Courses like MA, M.Com, M.Sc, MSW, MJMC and MBA accept scores in CUCET only and scores obtained in the previous qualifying examination.
MGCU was established in 2016 and is located in Motihari, Bihar. There are 7 schools offering over 30 courses. Out of 30 courses 20 were already operational, 10 more have been introduced.
MGCU is one of the central universities and is recognized and approved by UGC. It is one of the members of AIU and follows guidelines set by MHRD, Government of India.

How to Apply for GATE?
The applications are accepted through the official website of GOAPS. Where the applicant must register first to create a new registration using one unique email id.

How to apply for CUCET?
- Candidates have to register themselves by entering their names, email ID mobile number in the official website of CUCET – https://cucetexam.in after which an enrolment ID will be generated.
- After registration candidates have to login with their credentials and fill in the online application form and upload the required documents.
- Candidates have to proceed with the payment before submitting the form.
- Admit card will be issued for the registered candidates which could be downloaded from the official website.
Application process
The University follows both online and offline mode of application.
- For online mode of application, candidates have to visit the official website of the University – www.mgcub.ac.in where they could get the application form.
- Candidates should fill in the details and upload the document required and pay the registration fee of INR 1000 to finish the application process.
- Submit the application form after the payment of registration fees.
- For offline mode of application, candidates could either download the application from University’s official portal or get it from the controller of examinations office from the University.
- Candidates should fill in and send the application form along with the registration fee of INR 1000 to college office. Fee has to be sent in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of ‘Mahatma Gandhi Central University’.

Ques. What is the eligibility Criteria to apply to MGCU?
Ans. For UG, students should have passed 10+12 from a recognized board. Candidates should have secured 50 % (for general category) and 45 % (for SC / ST).
For PG, candidates should have graduated in any discipline with a minimum of 50 % (for general category) and 45 % (for SC / ST) from any recognized University or Institute.
Ques. What is the marking scheme in CUCET?
Ans. CUCET adopts a negative marking scheme. Candidates will be given 3 marks for each right answer and 1 mark will be reduced for each wrong answer.
Ques. What is the exam pattern of CUCET?
Ans. CUCET only contains multiple choice questions (MCQ). The exam will be conducted in two parts such as part A and part B. the first part contains questions from English Language, general awareness, mathematical aptitude and analytical skills. The second part contains questions from domain knowledge which has 75 MCQs.
