IIIT Ranchi Courses Admissions 2024: Dates, Eligibility, Selection

IIIT Ranchi offers a 4 years long B.Tech honors programme under the specializations of Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The institute charges a fee of INR 2.14 lakhs for the 1st year of its B.Tech program. 

IIIT Ranchi B.Tech (Hons.) Eligibility Criteria 

• Candidates seeking admission to the B.Tech (Hons.) Program at IIIT Ranchi are required to have completed their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects.
• Candidates must have scored a minimum of 75% marks in their 10+2.

IIIT Ranchi B.Tech (Hons.) Selection Criteria

• Candidates are required to appear for the JEE Main entrance examination. 
• The allocation of seats is done after the successful completion of JoSAA counseling process. 

IIIT Ranchi B.Tech Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

IIIT Ranchi JEE Main cutoff is the minimum rank to get admitted to the B.Tech program. The cutoff will be released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The cutoff depends on various factors such as rank secured in the JEE Main examination, availability of seats, choice filling, reservation criteria, etc. IIIT Ranchi BTech expected cutoff 2023 for general category candidates based on JoSAA 2022 round 1 opening and round 6 closing ranks is tabulated below:

How to Apply for JEE Main?

Candidates who are eligible for admission have to take the JEE Main. The application process is given below:

• Visit the official website of JEE- Main
• Register for the online application form
• Make a note of the system-generated application number
• Create a password
• Log in again and fill out the form
• Upload scanned images of photographs and signature
• A fee of 650 INR (325 INR for reserved categories) will be charged/ It is to be paid through Debit card, Credit card, Net banking, UPI or Paytm.
• Keep a printout of the application form for future use.

For JOSAA Counseling:

Candidates who have a positive JEE Main score have to go for JoSAA counselling. Follow these steps to register:

• Click on the registration page at the official JoSAA website.
• Use the JEE Main application number to log in.
• Ensure that your candidate profile is accurate. 
• Click on ‘Submit changes’.
• Fill out your preferred colleges and specializations according to the list of available options.
• Lock the selected choices by clicking on ‘I agree to lock my choices’.
• Keep a printout of the page for future reference.

The institute offers a 2 years long M.Tech program under two different specializations namely, Machine learning and Data Science and Embedded Systems and IoT. The fee for the 1st year of M.Tech program is INR 2.14 lakhs at IIIT Ranchi.

IIIT Ranchi M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates are required to have completed their graduation in the relevant discipline of Engineering or Technology from a recognized university or college. 
• Candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in aggregate. 

IIIT Ranchi M.Tech Selection Criteria

• Selection to the M.Tech program is done on the basis of ranks secured by a candidate in the GATE exam.
• Also, a candidate has to appear in the CCMT counseling session for final admission. 

How to Apply for GATE?

Those who are eligible for admission have to take the GATE. The registration process for it is given below:

• Visit the official website
• Register through the link by entering the candidate’s name, email ID and mobile number.
• After the form is submitted, an enrollment ID will be sent to the candidate’s mobile number.
• Fill out the application form.
• A fee of 1,500 INR (750 INR for women and reserved categories) will be charged. It is to be paid online.
• Download the form and keep a printout for future reference.

CCMT Counselling:

Candidates who take the GATE will have to go for CCMT counselling. To apply, follow the given steps:

• Register at the official website.
• Fill out the application form.
• Pay the registration fee of 2,200 INR (1,700 INR for reserved categories).
• Click on “I agree”.
• Start entering your choices. When it is done, lock the choices.
• Submit the application and keep a printout.

IIIT Ranchi offers a 3 to 7 years of Ph.D degree in two specializations i.e. Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering in both full time and part time mode and charges a fee of INR 25,000 per semester.

IIIT Ranchi Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D program are required to have completed their master's degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA.

• Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 80% marks in aggregate. 

IIIT Ranchi Ph.D Selection Criteria

• Selection to the Ph.D program is based on the scores obtained by a candidate in the GATE or UGC NET/CSIR exam.
• A candidate should also appear in the written test and personal interview conducted by the institute itself.

• Take the print out of application form
• Draw a Demand Draft of INR 1000/- (500 for SC/ST/Women) in favour of IIIT Ranchi payable at Jamshedpur
• Send the Application form with DD and other required documents to IIIT Ranchi.
• Write the Applicant’s Name/Post for Applied at the back of DD.
• The Envelope must have the heading ” Application for Ph.D. Admission in Department Name, IIIT Ranchi.
