MS Ramaiah University provides Ph.D. programme in different specializations for which they conduct a written test followed by an interview. MSRUAS also considers the performance of candidates in the graduation and post graduation courses. Merit list for the selection of candidates is prepared by the university’s authorities. The entrance test and interview for the Ph.D. programme are conducted in the month of April. Candidates can pay the programme fees and complete the other formalities in the month of May and the class for the course begins in the last week of May. Candidates can apply for the course in both online as well as the offline mode. Ph.D. programme is also available for foreign nationals for which they are required to submit the TOEFL score card at the time of admission.

Duration: Candidates are required to complete the programme in a minimum of 3 years and maximum of 5 years time duration.

NOTE: Duration for part-time enrolled candidates is of 4 to 6 years.

Eligibility: For Ph.D. programme candidates are required to have passed Masters Programme with at least second division marks in the subject area of research in which they want to pursue Ph.D.

NOTE: Candidates are also required to obtain a minimum specified score by the University in the qualifying exams and interview.

University also offers a spilt Ph.D. programme in which a candidate can do the research work in the University as well in the Partner University located in India or abroad.

Admission Process

The selection of candidates to the Ph.D. programme is done on the merit formed by comprising the following aspects:

  1. Written test
  2. Interview
  3. Previous academic performance
  • Written test:

The written test is conducted by the University to evaluate knowledge of the candidate in the research subject.

  • Interview:

Interview is conducted by the team of experts formed by the University to check the presentation skills of the candidate.

  • Previous academic performance

University also considers the marks scored by the candidates in their previous qualification i.e. graduation and post graduation for making the selection.

NOTE:

Candidates can get the pattern of presentation to be made in the interview process from the University website. Merit for the selection of candidates is made on the following scenario:

  1. Written test- 30%
  2. Interview- 30%
  3. Graduation-15%
  4. Post graduation- 25%

Application Process

Online mode:

  • Candidates can apply for the programme through online mode by going to the university website.
  • Fill in the details asked in the form, select YES or NO in the column of documents which is required to be submitted. If the asked document concerns you then select YES otherwise NO.

NOTE: Selected documents along with the Demand Draft of INR 1000 drawn in favour of ‘MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences’ payable at Bangalore are to be send to the University.

  • The sections like Student Visa, Migration certificate, passport or any other such details asked in the form, if not applicable to the candidate should be marked as NO.

  • Candidates are required to keep the Demand Draft ready at the time of filling the application form.

Offline mode:

To submit the form through offline mode, candidates are required to download the form from the University website, fill the required details and send it to the University along with the documents and a Demand Draft of INR 1000 drawn in favour of ‘MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences’ payable at Bangalore.
