- Any candidate who has passed B.Tech/ B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering/ Applied Electronics with at least 50% marks are eligible for the course. While students with B.Tech/ B.E in Electronics and Instrumentation require a minimum of 60% marks to apply.
- Candidates are classified into three categories and are selected through different processes that take GATE score, performance in Online Interview, Work Experience, Marks of an Online MCQ test into account.
- The program is four-semester or two-year long. It provides theoretical and practical knowledge to the students in the field of electronics and communication.

Candidates seeking admission in the M.Tech program must have at least one of the following qualifications:
- B.Tech or B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Electronics/ Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering/ Applied Electronics/ Radio Physics/ M.Sc. in Physics with Advanced Papers in Electronics/ M.Sc. in Electronics with at least 50% marks.
- Students who come from socially disadvantaged SC/ ST backgrounds will get 5% relaxation.
- Candidates whose final results are yet to be declared can apply provisionally with the condition that they produce their Final Result before they are interviewed.
- The candidates are classified into three groups for the selection process. GATE qualified students are given preference over others. However, some seats are reserved for sponsored candidates who fulfill the basic eligibility and also have at least two-year work experience.
- Non-GATE/ Non-Sponsored candidates also have an opportunity of getting an admission subject to the availability of seats once all the GATE or sponsored candidates are considered.

- To apply for admission, the candidates are required to submit their application online following the steps mentioned below
- The candidates must check the eligibility criteria and then apply online on the official website of the university.

- The selection process is merit-based and has different requirements for candidates that are categorized in different groups.
- Category A candidates will be selected based on the merit list that will be prepared after taking the GATE Score, graduation marks, and interview into account. It gives 70% weightage to GATE Score, 10% to marks in B.Tech/ B.E, and 20% to the performance in the online interview.
- Category B candidates will be selected solely on the basis of their work experience and performance in the online interview.
- Category C candidates will be selected based on the merit list that will be prepared after taking Online MCQ marks, graduation marks, and interview into account. It gives 70% weightage to the marks of the online MCQ test, 10% to marks in B.Tech/ B.E, and 20% to the performance in the online interview.
- Category C candidate’s selection is subject to availability of seats after the selection process of candidates from Category A and B.
