Ans. Burdwan University is a state government university which was established in the year 1960. This university was established by the Government of West Bengal. It got affiliation on 15th of June 1960. It has six graduate departments and more than 30 undergraduate colleges that come under the jurisdiction of the University. Students of various disciplines like Arts, Commerce and Science can take admission in Burdwan University’s colleges.

Ans. In order to study abroad, the desired universities must offer exchange programmes for students. However, Burdwan University does not offer any student exchange programs in its department/ course. Hence, it is not possible for the students of Burdwan University to study abroad with the state university. 

Ans. Burdwan University offers more than 10 specializations under the Master’s of Arts program. The specializations offered are English, Bengali, History, Political Science, Education, Sanskrit, Sociology, Woman Studies, Philosophy, Arabic, Hindi, Economics, Urdu, Vocal and Instrumental Music (Hindustani & Carnatic), French and more. Moreover, the admissions to an MA program are done on the basis of merit.

Ans. Burdwan University supports the UGC Scholarship for unreserved students. The scholarships for unreserved categories, students are based on merit. Ans. Burdwan University does not follow any dress code. But, students of the university are recommended to dress decently and professionally. 

Ans. Burdwan University does not accept online application fees. This is because the application process of Burdwan University is totally shifted to the online mode. From registration to application and merit lists, every admission step is done online. Therefore, the university will not entertain any off-line payments. 

Ans. Burdwan University offers facilities and scholarships for physically disabled students. The university tries its best to make acquiring education easier for the physically challenged students at the state university. Burdwan University offers scholarships for physically disadvantaged students. Ans. Burdwan University has a dedicated Faculty of Law which offers numerous courses. The state university offers a 3 year LL.B, a 5-year BA LLB and an LLM course to its enrolled students. Students can take admission in the university on the basis of aggregate marks obtained from graduation and through the university entrance test. The basic eligibility criteria for admission is 10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum 45% marks.

Ans. Burdwan University offers various medical facilities for students on campus. Under the healthcare center Burdwan University has an MBBS, MD medical officer for students and staff. Ans. Burdwan University does not offer an application fee waiver. This is due to the guidelines of the government of West Bengal for the state universities. Ans. Burdwan University offers numerous specializations under the M.Sc program. These specializations range from Humanities, Sciences and Commerce subjects. The specializations under the M.Sc course are as follows:

Mathematics, Computer Science, Microbiology, Geography, Chemistry, Botany, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, Zoology, Physiology, Statistics, and more. The admissions to postgraduate courses are based on merit. Applicants must have at least 45% marks in relevant bachelors degree in order to be eligible for admissions at Burdwan University.

Ans. Burdwan University does not offer any certificate courses. The state university has more than 32 undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate programs. The regular courses range from multiple disciplines. Moreover, the UGC approved university offers degrees with world-wide recognition. 

Ans. The verification documents required in Burdwan University are as follows: 

• The candidate must make an application on a prescribed letterhead to the controller of Examination, the University of Burdwan, by the official signatory of the institution concerned.
• A required fee of INR 200 per examination may be submitted either by bank draft drawn in the favor of the Finance Officer, Burdwan University, State Bank of India, Burdwan University branch. 
• Photocopy of the mark sheet of all final examinations about UG, PG Courses, etc. Is to be submitted along with the application.

Ans. Burdwan University provides the outstation students hostel facilities. The hostels are separate for boys and girls students. An applicant must apply for a hostel accommodation at the time of admission.: 

•  Students seeking hostel accommodation shall apply online through the link on the official website of the university only. 
• Candidates are required to upload / submit copies of their residential id(s) (voter card, driving license, aadhaar etc.
• The fully filled application form must be submitted along with the documents mentioned in the form and the money receipt of payment must be submitted at Burdwan University.

Ans. The maximum age of a candidate, seeking admission into 5-Year B.A. LL.B.(Hons.). The course must not exceed 20 years on the 1st of July in the relevant year in case of general category and 22 (twenty two) years in case of SC, ST & OBC applicants.

No candidate having obtained a graduation/ post graduate degree from an Open University or through Distance Education Mode is eligible to apply for admission to any courses of postgraduate studies. It is because of the new university guidelines wherein students with distance or open schools are not eligible for admission in PG courses.

Ans. Burdwan University admissions are done on the basis of merit for various subjects. However, for the MBA program, Burdwan University accepts national level exams such as CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, MAT, GMAT. Moreover, to get admission into Master’s in Technology, an applicant must have GATE scores. Lastly, for PhD programmes, an applicant can benefit from written test exemptions if they have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/CSIR-NET (including JRF)/ SET/SLET/GATE exams.

Ans. Students can reach Word Dhwani University by train. They can take a local train to Howrah to Burdwan station. Moreover, the nearest airport to Burdwan is Kolkata. Students can get regular indirect flights from every state for Kolkata airport. At the airport, students can take a cab to reach Burdwan University. 

Ans. Hostel accommodations at Burdwan University are given to outstation students. Moreover, there are in total 951 bed capacity for boys hostel and 797 seats for girls hostel. The hostel accommodation facility comes with good warden and decorum of the hostel timings for student safety. At the time of application, students must attach residential proof. 

Ans. Burdwan University does not accept off-line or in-person applications. It is because the admission process has been shifted online. Moreover, applicants are invited from all round the nation which is why online application is the most economical way for students to apply in Burdwan University. 

Ans. University offers reservation for every reserved category as per the rules of government of India. The OBC category students get 27% of seat reservation in every course. Similarly, SCST students get 15% and 7.5% respectively. Moreover, PwD students have a standard reservation of 5% in each course. Lastly, economically, the weaker section or EWS has reservation of 10% seats in every course.

Ans. Dudhwa University offers doctorate level programs in various specializations. The admission into these specializations are based on the University entrance test and a personal round. However, there are exemptions for candidates with MPhil Degree, UGC-NET (including JRF)/CSIR-NET (including JRF)/ SET/SLET/GATE. JRF qualified are exempted from the entrance test.
