IIT Roorkee MURP Eligibility

The below-mentioned eligibility conditions are applicable to all regular, full-time sponsored, and part-time sponsored candidates. 

• Candidates should have a B.Arch (or its equivalent) or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engg./B. Planning from a recognized University.
• Candidates of General, Gen-EWS, and OBC categories must have secured at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.00 on a 10-point scale at the qualifying degree level; but for SC/ST/PD category candidates, this percentage is 55% or 5.50 CGPAon a 10 point scale.
• Final year students who will be completing all the requirements of their qualifying examination including back paper (s) / supplementary(ies) before the date of registration are also eligible to apply for IIT Roorkee admission 2023. 
• Along with the above-mentioned eligibility, candidates also need a valid GATE score to be eligible for admission to M.Tech/M.Arch/M.U.R.P. 
• Direct admission without GATE will be offered to IIT graduates with a minimum CGPA of 8.00 on a 10-point scale.

IIT Roorkee M.U.R.P. Selection Criteria

• GATE qualified Candidates: are selected based on valid normalized GATE marks only.
• Non-GATE Candidates: Regular B.Tech degree holders from IITs without a GATE score must have a CGPA greater than or equal to 8.
• Sponsored Candidates: Interview / Written Test & Relevant experience is required for sponsored candidates with full-time and part-time work experience.

IIT Roorkee Assistantship and Scholarships

There are approved numbers of seats in different programs for which assistantships are given by the MOE to GATE-qualified candidates selected for admission within the sanctioned intake on the basis of valid Normalized GATE marks only. However, the Institute may admit additional eligible (GATE qualified) candidates with assistantships from Govt. agencies like MNRE, provided the fellowship is approved for the concerned department(s), and the department agrees to admit more than the sanctioned intake. 

Procedure for acceptance of an offer on the COAP 2024 portal

Offers will be made available on the COAP portal. Candidates are advised to follow the offer acceptance process and the associated guidelines & timeline. The candidates, who accept & freeze their offer, have to make online payment of Institute Fees within the stipulated date. 

IIT Roorkee Cancellation of Admission/Programme

The Institute reserves the right to cancel, at any stage, the admission of a candidate admitted to a program and is later found that he/she is not entitled, being unqualified or ineligible in accordance with the Regulations in vogue, or suspension/termination of the program. In case of cancellation/withdrawal of admission after registration from the program, a refund of the fee will not be permissible. In such cases, only security money will be refunded at the end of the semester.

• All entries should be carefully made while applying online. IIT Roorkee will not be responsible for wrong entries. Candidates shall be solely responsible for the eligibility, correctness, and authenticity of the information/documents provided in the online application. 
• Candidates may seek admission to more than one department/ (maximum four departments and 14 programs). A candidate should submit one Application only.
• Choices (max. 14) once given shall not be changed at any stage for any reason after submission of the Online application form).
