MJPRU PhD Key Highlights

  • Candidates with a job can also do PhD but they have to prove that there is enough time for research.
  • Admissions to the PhD program is done based on their performance in RET. The exam is conducted for specific subjects.
  • Candidates need to apply for the RET exam in a form available on the university site.
  • The syllabus for RET is the same as the NET/JRF exam. RET exam is a written test consisting of two papers. Paper 1 general paper consists of 100 questions with 100 marks. Paper 2 is subject-based and consists of 200 questions with 200 marks. There are no negative marks.

MJPRU PhD Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates need a masters degree with a minimum percentage of 55% in relevant disciplines.
  • Candidates having PG in allied subjects are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates appearing in their final PG exam are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates need to appear in the RET entrance exam conducted by the university itself.
  • Candidates will also be required to attend a personal interview.

MJPRU PhD Course Details

  • PhD consists of course work, synopsis submission and thesis submission.
  • Every candidate shall undergo course work of a minimum of six months as prescribed by the university.
  • Every candidate should pay an amount of Rs 25000/- as a fee for course work.
  • Course work is considered as pre-Ph.D. preparation.
  • Candidates failing in their first attempt at coursework are given another chance.
  • A minimum attendance of 75% is needed to appear in the university exam of each paper.
  • University conducts semester-end examinations.
