For admission to 3 years LLB (Hons. ) course at Galgotias University the applicants must have:

• Passed graduation with a minimum of 50% marks from any recognized university. Or,

Program Structure

• The duration of the LLB (Hons. ) course at Galgotias University is 3 years (6 semesters). One Semester is equivalent to 21 working weeks inclusive of 17 instructional and 4 Semester End Exam weeks. 
• There are 7 papers in each term having 4 credits including 2 Honours Course Papers in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th semesters having 3 credits.
• From the 2nd to 5th semester, students have to go for Summer and Winter Internships at Trial Courts, Law Firms, High Court and Supreme Court, 2 credits are awarded for these internships.
• There are 27 credits in 1st, 30 credits in 2nd, 28 credits each in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 26 credits in the 6th semester.
• A minimum attendance of 85% is mandatory, which can be further reduced to 75% after seeking permission on the compelling grounds of :
  • Calamity in family
  • Hospitalization due to prolonged in-patient treatment
  • Serious accident
  • Other serious unavoidable circumstances

Student Evaluation

The performance of students in the course is evaluated based on their performance in End Term Evaluation, 2 Continuous Assessment Tests (CAT) and Continuous Evaluation by the Teacher ( Quizzes, Assignments, Projects, Seminars, Viva - voice, etc. ). The percentage weightage of these test/evaluation methods on the overall performance of students is :

• 50 % End Term Evaluation
• 30 % CAT - 1 & CAT - 2
• 20 % for Continuous Evaluation by Teacher

Attendance and other requirements

• A minimum attendance of 85% is mandatory, which can be further reduced to 75% after seeking permission on serious or unavoidable circumstances.
• Maintaining a minimum aggregate of 7.5 CGPA is mandatory for students to get the Honours Award.
