Tamil Nadu Agricultural University or TNAU offers a diploma degree in two specializations i.e., Diploma in Agriculture and Diploma in Horticulture. The course work is of 2 year duration and is divided into 4 semesters.
- The minimum requirement to apply for Diploma in these two courses is a 12th pass certificate in relevant subjects.
- The student must have compulsorily studied Biology for getting admission here.
- The application form is to be filled online.
- The counselling is a single window process.
- Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has been awarded the most prestigious FAI-IZA award for the contribution in Zn nutrition of crops and their work for promotional activities for agriculture.

TNAU Diploma Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for candidates seeking admissions to the Diploma courses are as follows:
- Candidates must have passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.
or
- Candidates who have qualified HSC under Vocational stream and Biology and studied Vocational Agricultural Practices are eligible to apply.
or
- Candidates who passed HSC under Vocational stream and studied Biology, Agricultural Science (theory & practical) and Computer technology as vocational subjects are eligible to apply.
- Candidates must be below 20 years of age as of July 1st, 2023. For SC/ST/SCA, there is no age limit.
- For taking admission in TNAU, the candidate must have qualified 12th standard in maximum two attempts. SC/SCA/ST categories are given a relaxation of three years.

The application forms for admission to Diploma at TNAU are accepted online. The steps required are as mentioned below:

- Click on diploma admission and register with necessary details.
- Fill the application form carefully.
- Give the right email id and phone number for further communication.
- Download and print the application for the offline process.
- Send the application form and application fee of 200 INR (100 INR for SC/ST/SCA) paid through demand draft to The Dean (Agriculture) Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, Coimbatore-3 payable at Coimbatore and photocopies of Certificates as well.
- Original documents must be given for verification when required at the time of counselling or admission.

TNAU Diploma Scholarships
The scholarships provided by TNAU are as follows:
Adi Dravidar Welfare Directorate:
- The scholarship is available for all the students who are eligible in all the districts of Tamil Nadu. To avail the scholarship, you need to contact the District Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Officer.
- The scholarship is given through the prizes to the top rankers of 12th and 10th standard.
- 12th examination: INR 3000
- 10th examination: 1st prize: INR 1000
- 2nd prize: INR 500
- 3rd prize: INR 300.
- Apart from this scholarship is given to one boy and one girl (highest scorers) of the Adi Dravidar Tribal community who are converted into Christianity.
TNAU Diploma Placements
Campus interviews are conducted regularly. About 60 companies participate annually in the Campus interviews conducted by the University. The University as per the closure of the academic program conducts a Job Fair for the students in March/April.

Ques. What is the medium of Instruction there?
Ans. English is the medium of instruction in all the affiliated Colleges of TNAU but the Institute of Agriculture at Vamban is a Tamil medium College.
Ques. What is the process for applying through management quota?
Ans. There is no difference while applying through management quota for diploma. Fill the application form and submit it to the authorities like every other category. The difference is, when you apply through management quota, you are not eligible for any scholarship or fee concession.
Ques. Do we have to send the original documents to the College with the application form?
Ans. No, you have to send photocopies only. Original documents must be with you at the time of Counselling and admission.
