Sastra University BCA Eligibility Criteria
- The applicants of BCA first semester should pass their Higher Secondary (10+2) examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
- The candidate should have Mathematics or Statistics in their 10+2 academic stream.

Sastra University BCA Course Details
The BCA course at Sastra University is a full-time course that follows the semester system. The duration of the program is 3 years.
Evaluation:
- A Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) mark is given, which can be for a maximum of 30 marks based on the candidate’s performance in the proctored online - assessments, seminar, quiz, assignment, etc. Other than that, there will be one proctored online examination of 3 hours at the end of the semester for each credited course.
- A total of 100 marks is allotted for the BCA course, in which 30 marks are allotted for the continuous internal assessment and 70 marks are assigned for the end semester examination.
- To become eligible to be awarded the BCA degree, the candidate has to earn credits by clearing the course every semester. The credits for BCA is 120, and the mode of instruction is in English.
- A letter grade is also given to the student.
- Course-wise grades are given to the students following a scheme that is based on the aggregate marks obtained by the candidate in BCA. It includes the internal assessment marks and the end-semester examination marks. To know more about the grading pattern, click here.
- To pass the candidate has to secure at least a ‘D’ Grade.
Attendance Requirement:
The minimum attendance that is required is 70%. The percentage of attendance of a candidate is calculated on the basis of the number of periods attended divided by the total number of periods actually conducted from the date of the admission, which is then finally multiplied by 100.
